 Rural Paradise Renovation

This was a conventional brick and tile home in a beautiful rural setting. To allow the occupants to enjoy the captivating views from their living areas we designed the renovation to their home to capitalise on the beauty surrounding them.

By adding a 7.7-metre wide curved, faceted window they now have a 180-degree eye-stopping panorama, to enjoy the views from atop their little paradise.

The designs also added skylights in the kitchen for more natural light, an outdoor living area with a louvre roof system to enjoy in good weather and bad, a spa and extensive decking.

This is the beautiful home that won the House of the Year Silver Award for Renovation in the $500,000 to 1 Million Category in 2021.

Connecting to the Outdoors

Converting smaller spaces to a large open-plan living area, this home now has a beautifully connected living area out to their garden. By utilizing steel portals and laminated beams 95sqm of seamless living was created beneath raking ceilings and large bifold doors replaced sliding doors to open into the gardens with much more ease.

The new kitchen with a large breakfast bar/kitchen island was finished with lacquered detailed doors and engineered stone benchtops, steel portals in the living area have been concealed by dummy rafters to accentuate the height of the ceiling and make the space look even larger. A Stovax wood fire creates ambience and is enhanced by batten detailing around the chimney and built-in cabinets for seamless storage.

All groove window and door liners were hidden with new architraves, the en-suite and bathroom were upgraded with new tiling and fittings, and the rest of the home was redecorated with lighting, painting, wallpaper and carpets. Plus the newly painted exterior was enhanced beautifully with a dark oak finish to all timber columns, fascias and pergolas.

This beautiful home won the House of the Year Silver Award for Renovation in the up to $500,000 Category in 2020.

Mount Maunganui Home

A home designed with architectural features and warm timber tones to make this a warm and inviting family home. This house was a design challenge as the home was to be built on a very small, steep, south facing site. It was designed to capture as much passive energy from the sun, which was effectively on the other side of the house, and regardless of the challenges the design came out great, and the owners were very happy.

Designed with indoor out door flow in mind, the connection to the outdoors from the main kitchen living and dining areas was a must for the client. By utilising a  combination of stacker and bi-fold doors an entire wall opens up to make a bbq with friends and family a breeze.

The style and colour pallet of this home was designed so each room has its own unique feel and each person can escape into their own space at the end of a long day.
